This tutorial shows you how to create your own silhouette people to use in your Revit Sections and Elevations. Starting in Illustrator we'll export a DWG and then use those vector lines to create a new detail component family with a man and a woman. Follow the tutorial to create your own people, or download mine for free on the resources page.

This tutorial covers how to properly design a window shading device based on the altitude of the sun. I also preview four methods of modeling shading devices. There are many videos that show how to do shading studies, but how do you get your shading device to the correct size in the first place? I show you how to set it correctly the first time so you can skip the trial and error and move your design forward. Make sure to check out the resources page to download the example file!

4 tips and tricks you can use today to start becoming more efficient in your Revit work:

  1. Get in the habit of using Revit shortcuts. I show you how and why.

  2. Get better at selecting the objects you need to work with. I cover crossing selections, selection filters and Select All commands.

  3. Use “Paste Align to View” in plans, sections and elevations to make use of drafting and annotations you've already done.

  4. Set up your windows for maximum screen real estate and efficiency.

In this Revit tutorial I cover how to add a custom project parameter you can apply to all the sheets in your project. You can then use this parameter to create a custom Browser Organization filter to sort and organize your sheets however you want. This process works exactly the same way for all the views in your project as well.
